Aan de klus - Doing chores

Deze maand zou onze nieuwe TV-kast komen dus dat leek ons een mooie gelegenheid om de muren in de huiskamer weer eens van een ander kleurtje te voorzien.
This month the television cabinet we bought should arrive so we decided to take the opportunity and paint the living room walls in a new colour. 

Ongelooflijk wat een troep er dan weer uit de kasten komt zetten die natuurlijk allemaal leeg moeten om te kunnen verschuiven....(zucht)  maar als dat eenmaal voor elkaar is kan de leuke klus beginnen.

Unbelievable how much junk is coming out of the cupboards that I have to empty in order to push them from the wall......(sigh)  but when that is done the fun part can begin.

En dit is wat we ervan gemaakt hebben, ik vind het zelf wel heel stijlvol geworden. Nu kregen we alleen het bericht dat de TV-kast pas eind januari komt....dat wordt dus nog even dozen stapelen in de woonkamer.

And this is what we made of it, I think it looks very stylish. And than we got the news that the television cabinet won't be delivered before the end of january....so there will be some boxes piled up in the livingroom ror a while.

Voor we aan deze klus begonnen nog even tijd gehad op de Bee vorige week om mijn Junk tas af te maken, hij is heerlijk groot.

Before we started the painting job I had time at the Bee to finish my Junk bag, I love how big it is.

Genoeg ruimte in alle vakken voor al mijn 'junk'.

Enough room in the bag for all my 'junk'.

En de buitenrand van de stitcherie is bijna af, alleen nog even een ster op de kerstboom appliceren. Zou het dan toch nog gaan lukken voor 25 december?

The border of my stitcherie is almost finished, I just have to applique a star on the Christmas tree. Will it be finished before decemer 25th?

Tas klas - Bag class

Mijn Amerikaanse vriendin Shannon heeft een nieuwe tas ontworpen en ik vind 'm weer leuk! Ze heeft er ook weer de leukste stofjes voor uitgezocht dus ik was gelijk verkocht!
My American friend Shannon designed another bag and I love it! She used the cutest fabric to make it with and I just fell for it!

Is ie niet schattig met die kersjes?

Op 29 september gaat Shannon een cursus geven in het maken van de tas in de quiltwinkel waar ze werkt, The Corn Wagon in Springville, Utah http://www.cornwagonquilts.com/ en wat wil nu het geval....?

Wij zijn in de buurt! Ik heb me dus snel ingeschreven voor de cursus want deze kans laat ik niet aan me voorbij gaan natuurlijk. Een heerlijk vooruitzicht!

On september 29th Shannon is going to teach a bag class of this bag in the shop where she works, the Corn Wagon in Springville, Utah http://www.cornwagonquilts.com/ and guess what? We happen to be in the neighbourhood! This is an opportunity I can't let pass by so I admitted to the class immediately. What a great thing to look forward to!

Eens.....ooit.....hoop ik dat Shannon hier in Nederland een cursus komt geven.

Nog een tas / Another bag

Ik krijg de smaak van het tassen maken al aardig te pakken. Deze tas maakte ik voor mijn vriendin Ada die afgelopen week 50 werd.  I am a little getting into making bags. This one I made for my friend Ada who turned 50 last week.

Ada en ik zijn vriendinnen sinds 1976. Onbegrijpelijk dat we nu al (bijna) 50 zijn! Waar blijft de tijd?

Ada and I are friends since 1976. Unbelieveble that we are (almost) 50 now! Where did the time go?

Het was een gezellig feest met liedjes en cabaret voor de jarige! It was a great party with songs and cabaret for the birthday girl.

En wat had Ada een lol! Boy,did she had fun!

Ik denk dat ze blij was met de tas. Bedankt voor het leuke feest Ada! Ik ben de volgende!
