Ja, het ligt natuurlijk al weer en week achter ons maar ik loop een beetje achter, vandaar dat ik toch even start met wat moederdag foto's. Rosa kwam met haar Papa en Mama gezellig op visite.
I know, it has already been a week but I am a little behind so I want to start with some Mother's Day pictures. Rosa came to visit with her Mom and Dad.
Omdat het maandag Omadag was bleef Rosa gelijk bij ons en dat was ook feest voor Opa. We maakten een fietstochtje naar de kinderboerderij en de speeltuin.
Because it was Oma-day on Monday Rosa stayed with us and that was great for Opa. We went for a bike ride to the children's farm and the playground.

Dinsdag was het jaarlijks uitje van onze afdeling op het werk. We bleven in de stad waar ik werk en geboren ben, Leiden en bezochten de Hortus Botanicus. De oudste tuin van Nederland sinds 1590.
Every year we are going on an excursion with our team at work. We stayen in the town of Leiden, the city I work and where I was born. We visited the oldest garden of the Netherlands, the Hortus Botanicus, founded in 1590.
En we maakten een hofjeswandeling door de stad en bezochten de Pieterskerk gebouwd tussen 1390 en 1570.
We did a tour to some old courtyards and to Peter's Church build between 1390 and 1570.
Ik wist dat de Amerikaanse presidenten Roosevelt en Bush afstamden van de Pelgrim Fathers maar wat ik niet wist is dat ook president Obama hiervan afstamt. Tomas Blossom was een voorvader van zijn moeders kant.
I knew that the American Presidents Roosevelt and Bush were descendants of the Pelgrim Fathers but I didn't know that President Obama also does. Thomas Blossom was an ancestor of his Mom.
Achter sommige gevels vindt je de mooiste hofjes verscholen.

Patricia bracht een tas vol boeken mee naar de Bee we hebben allemaal weer leesvoer voor de komende tijd.
Patricia brought a bag full of books to the Bee, we all will have something to read for the time to come.
Mijn vriendin Ada's dochter Debbie doet zendingswerk in Afrika en gaat daar binnenkort weer heen. Ze wil graag voor een opvanghuis voor zwangere tieners washandjes meenemen en we hebben er op de Bee een aantal 'opgeleukt'. Binnenkort volgt het resultaat.
Debbie, the daughter of my friend Ada does mission work in Africa. She is going back there soon and she wants to bring wash clothes to a shelter for pregnant teenagers. We did some work on them to make them look nicer. Soon I will show he results.
En dan nog even een update van mijn Quiltdomein. Ik ben er inmiddels wel achter dat ik veel te veel troep heb. (herkenbaar hè?) Het is nog een hele klus en door tijdgebrek gaat het niet zo snel als ik soms zou willen maar dat komt goed.
A little update of my new Quilt room. I know by now I have to much junk (recognizable huh?) I don't have the time to finish the job as soon as I would like but I am getting there.

Een stadswandeling is altijd leuk om te doen zo zie je allemaal plekjes waar je anders zo maar langs loopt. Uitje met Rosa weer puur genieten. Je atelier komt beetje bij beetje ook op orde misschien denk je nu rommel maar het is natuurlijk geen rommel! Zo heb je alles weer even in je handen en weet je waar het ligt en wat je hebt! ziet er alvast very cosy uit. En Rosa zal oma vast wel eens gaan helpen.......

Wat een leuk uitje, Leiden is heel mooi, denk dat je bij zo'n wandeling veel leert en ziet waar je anders aan voorbij zou lopen.
