Onze rustige dagen op de ranch zijn voorbij en we rijden vandaag weer verder op onze reis. De eerste stop is in Fredericksburg. Een stadje gesticht door Duitse emigranten en met hele leuke winkeltjes waar ik mijn hart helemaal kan ophalen!
Our lazy days at the ranch are over and today we get along on our journey. The first stop we make in Fredericksburg. The town was found by German immigrants and has lots of cute little shops the way I like 'm.
In Johnson City bezoeken we het geboortehuis van Lyndon B Johnson, de 36e president van de VS.
We visit the childhood home of Lyndon B Johnson, the 36th president of the US.
Druk dagje vandaag, de volgende stop is Austin, de hoofdstad van Texas.
Busy day today, the next stop is Austin, capitol of Texas.
En zoals in elke hoofdstad vind je ook hier een State capitol.
In every capitol city you will find a capitol building.

En dan is de dag aangebroken dat we weer terug rijden naar Houston. We rijden de stad door naar onze huurwoning voor de komende 8 dagen in League City ten zuidoosten van Houston.
The day has come we drive back to Houston. We drive through town to our rental condo in League City for the next 8 days.
Zoals je veel ziet in Amerika ligt onze huurwoning in een wijkje dat is afgesloten door een hek. Je kunt alleen naar binnen met een code, wel zo veilig en rustig.
Our condo is situated in a quarter that is closed by a gate, you have to have a code to enter, it is quiet and safe.

Het apartement overtreft onze verwachtingen, hier kunnen we het gemakkelijk een tijdje uithouden.
The condo surpasses our expectations, we will find it easy to stay here for a while.
Nadat we ons hebben geïnstalleerd en de koffers uitgepakt rijden we weer terug naar het centrum van Houston waar we Shannon zullen ontmoeten in het conventiecentrum.
After moving in and unpacking we drive back to downtown Houston to meet Shannon at the conventioncenter.
We zien Shannon zitten op een bankje in de lobby en ik ga rustig achter haar zitten waarop zij denkt...."wat gaat dat mens vlak bij me zitten"......tot ze kijkt en .....tada......verrassing!
We see Shannon sitting on a bench in the lobby and I sneeky sat behind her, what makes her think:...."what is that woman doing sitting so close to me".....she looks up and.......tada....surprise!
Zo heerlijk om haar weer te zien, het is net of we elkaar pas nog hebben ontmoet, zo vertrouwd is het gelijk weer.
It was so much fun to see her again. It felt like we had just see eachother just recently it feels that familiar anyways.
Met de badges waar Shannon voor heeft gezorgd kunnen we naar binnen en zien hoe de Quiltmarkt wordt opgebouwd. Jonge, jonge wat een gekkenhuis!
Shannon provided us with badges so we could enter and see how everything for Quilt market is being build up. Boy oh boy what a crazy sight!

We moeten op tijd terug zijn voor Sample Spree. We hebben niet meegedaan aan de gekte om al 's middags in de rij te gaan staan om vooral maar de eerste te zijn. De ergste drukte is al voorbij als wij naar binnen gaan. We zien mensen naar buiten komen met tassen vol stofjes.
We have to be back in time for Sample Spree. We didn't wait in line whole afternoon like the real die hards that want to be the first to enter. The biggest crowd is already gone when we go in. People are leaving with bags full of fabric.
We vinden allemaal iets van onze gading gelukkig, dit is mijn score van de avond. Het leuke is dat deze stoffen pas volgend jaar in de winkel te koop zijn....er komen leuke stofjes aan hoor!
We all find something we like, this is my score of the night. The fun part is that those fabrics are not for sale in shops till next year, there are some cute fabrics coming our way!
Na zo'n enerverende dag is het wel even nodig alle indrukken een plekje te geven. Laat naar bed dus en heerlijk uitgeslapen. Ontbijt wordt dus brunch vandaag.
After an experience like that one need to unwind a bit. It was late before we got to bed and we slept in. Breakfast became brunch today.
Heerlijk de omgeving verkend en het oude centrum van League City, er was een herfstmarkt in het plaatselijke park.
We took time to explore our environment and old downtown League City, there was a harvest market at the park.
Enige (antiek) winkeltjes waar ik uren in kan struinen.....
Cute (antique) shops were I can loose myself in for hours.......
Ook om de hoek, de Kemah Boardwalk met vele kermisattracties en restaurants.

We besluiten de dag bij Salt Grass Steakhouse.

en een lekker stuk(je) vlees. and a nice piece of meat.
Zondag heeft Alex een dagje vrij, hij kan fijn alle dingen doen waar hij zin in heeft vandaag, beetje sporten, beetje luieren bij het zwembad. en ik?.....ik mag mee naar Quilt Market!.....Joepie!
Sunday is a day off for Alex, he got to do anything he wants to do today, a bit of working out, relaxing by the pool....and me? I get to go to Quilt Market!........Yeah!!!!
